Some of the reviews were unfair to this printer. I bought it a few days ago. It works as intended. It's a good printer for the price, specially considering that even in quiet mode, is not so slow. The double-sided was the reason I purchased this printer (and the network connection.)

Yes, the quality is different... but still is a good printer. I have an OKI c3400 that it's bigger and it looks more robust, but it has been more problematic.

Our older HP1300 stopped working and my wife needed another B/W printer. She had always wanted a duplex but they were expensive the last time I looked. I headed out to Staples and found the HP P2055dn. I got the price and came home to get reviews right here on Amazon. I read the ones with one star first and was concerned that we would have problems. I then read the five star reviews and felt that we could take the chance. I unpacked the printer, plugged it into the wall and the ethernet cable. I inserted the CD into my computer, a PC, and it did not load. I got the software in about 4-5 min from HP's site and made my first print within 10 min or so. VERY EASY set up. I then went to my wifes MAC and again, even less time as the CD worked on her machine. I think my CD is bad. So we are up and running, printed on the network with no problem. Trying to figure out duplex, but I don't doubt we will get it all set. Looks good and I am still a happy HP customer. Sorry to hear about those one stars, sucks!

I'm very pleased with this printer. When purchasing a printer, anything besides HP makes me wary. This printer is one of HP's best, in my humble opinion.

The things I like about it are the noise control, as well as the speed of printing. It is quiet, just like a printer in 2010 should be. The speed is phenomenal--it takes roughly about 3-4 seconds to have the document I want processed and printed.

It's dependable. It's easy. You plug it in and go. Really, nothing is complicated with printers anymore, especially with Mac OS X Snow Leopard or Windows 7. These OS are so intuitive that this printer just meshes with it.

One of the major plus features to this printer is the fact that it can duplex print, or double-side print. Working for a university, being eco-friendly is not only preferred, but a must with how much printing we do. This printer is the solution.

You will not be disappointed with this 2055dn.
